Professional Profile

Lucas transitioned to the Energy Business in 2010 (from FMCG), with Executive responsibility for establishing Sales and Branch offices in the highly competitive Renewable Energy Sector (Solar & Storage).

Lucas led the Contestable Energy Sales Team at EnergyAustralia’s Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Business Sales Group and was the Founding Country Manager of Yingli Green Energy’s Asia Pacific business. He served as the Chief Executive Officer for Horan & Bird (sold to Origin Energy), becoming Portfolio Manager Storage & Solar Services at Origin (Australia’s Largest Energy Company).

Lucas supported his early Renewable Energy experience with positions on the Australian Solar Council and The Energy Storage Council (now the Smart Energy Council) during a turbulent policy period for the Renewable Energy Industry.

Lucas now has over 25 years of Sales Management experience (FMCG, Retail, Utilities & Renewable Energy) with Samsung, Harvey Norman, TRUenergy (becoming EnergyAustralia), Origin Energy, Schneider Electric, Fluence (A Siemens and AES Company). He is now a leading Energy Executive in the APAC Region.

Lucas contributed to the success of Samsung’s arrival in Australia in mid-1990 as a National Manager – Telecommunications and as the Manager responsible for the Harvey Norman Account. Lucas was then a Harvey Norman Electrical and Computer Franchisee, awarded 2009 the “Gold Franchisee Award” at the inaugural Global Electrical Franchisee Conference.

Lucas holds a Global Executive MBA from Monash School of Business, a rigorous program via international modules at Insead, CEIBS and NYU Stern School of Business.
